The Mommas' Visit

Last weekend I was lucky enough to have both my mom and Grant's mom come stay with me for a few days. After nearly a month of having 1-way conversations with Hank, it was very nice to have company. It didn't hurt either that they spoiled me rotten! We ate lots of delicious Alaskan seafood including mussels, oysters, clams, salmon, halibut, ling cod, and shrimp, visited the local winery and brewery, shopped in a bunch of cute shops and galleries and visited the museums in town to learn all sorts of fun things about Homer and Kachemak Bay. And of course they made sure I had more sugar than I'd had in months thanks to daily sweets from Two Sisters Bakery. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate too well and it was cloudy and rainy for the majority of their visit. We were hoping to take a ferry across the bay but decided a warm museum sounded more appealing than riding through fog on a boat with gale-force winds. Here are some pictures of the fun we had:

Walking on the beach

Seeing the sites of the Spit

They even had a keg of Left Hand sitting on the Spit!

Outside the Bear Creek Winery        Cafe Cups-a very delicious restaurant

Hiking in the fall colors between the rain

Overall we had a fantastic time and I was sad it was so short. I hope this shows everyone how great Homer can be even in the rain and make you all want to come see me, oh I don't know, maybe next weekend???
