Waiting Game

We are officially in the stage of pregnancy that shows you how patient you truly are (not as patient as we thought). With Baby Girl due in 2 days, we oscillate between "Just hurry up and get here already!" and "Wait no, we're not ready yet!" approximately 20 times per day. She has been giving us some excitement this past week with a few bouts of building contractions that fizzle out as soon as we think about calling the midwife. As I've been told countless times, it's all building up to the big day, just have to be patient.

I stopped treating patients last week and was fortunate enough to be able to work part-time this week on my own schedule, just doing computer work. This helped immensely with distraction while still being able to sleep the strange schedule our little girl keeps. (If anybody is awake 1am-4am AKST, call me).

After a very mild first-half of winter with temperatures in the mid-40's, cloudy, and tons of rain, we finally got a small amount of snow, cold, and sunshine that reminds us why we love winter here so much. We even got out for a short ski on the reservoir but at 38 weeks pregnant, my pelvis said that was the last ski for a bit.

Grant has done an amazing job painting the baby's room, refinishing a rocking chair, and building a foot stool. I think it's the nicest room in the house, actually. We seem to know some very talented artists that created some adorable pieces to decorate her room.
Moose family compliments of my cousin, Emily
Barrette holder from my sis-in-law, Kelly
Jellyfish mobile from our friend, Jessica. Whale pictures from Kelly, and
sea creatures from my mom and Kelly that just happened to go perfectly together.
As you can see, Hank finds the room quite comfortable as well.
With all the sunshine we've had recently and longer days, we've been going on a lot of walks (and maybe helping the baby come sooner?)

And finally, some visitors have returned to our yard. I walked into the bedroom one morning to find this guy staring at me and he was soon joined by mom & brother/sister.

Hoping we'll be posting pictures of our sweet little nugget sooner, rather than later!
